A Few Moments Before Yom HaZikaron and Yom HaAtzmaut
Dear Friends,
It is already time for Yom HaZikaron- Memorial Day for fallen soldiers and terror victims- which starts this evening, and then immediately following it will beYom HaAtzmaut- Israeli Independence Day. Due to these very important days, I will not be in the office, but I want to write you now to share with you my best wishes, as well as a few pictures from today’s early Or Hadash Preschool Independence Day celebration.
Yom HaZikaron is a very important day for Israelis, and everyone in the Or Hadash community, because it is not just a time to honor the soldiers who died in defense of our beautiful country, but it is also a time to pray for those families who have lost loved ones in brutal terrorist attacks. Therefore, while we are all preparing to celebrate 62 years of a Jewish Israeli state, we must take the time to remember the sacrifices that were made, by all Israelis, soldiers and civilians alike.
At this time I would also like to thank all of our friends abroad who are true supporters of Israel, and who are always in our hearts, especially during these days of reflection. I would also like to say a special Mazal Tov to our good friend, Helen Cohen of Temple Israel in Boston, who celebrated the Bat Mitzvah of their granddaughter, Ariel, in Jerusalem yesterday.
On behalf of all Or Hadash members and staff, myself, Executive Director –Ami Perelman, and Presdient-Dr. Yuri Kilgerman, we wish you all a Chag Atzmaut Sameach, and good week ahead!
In Friendship,
Edgar
